Personal note

GloriFi launched as a mission-led fintech startup aiming to offer an alternative to traditional institutions—a holistic financial ecosystem aligned with customer priorities: financial independence, personal responsibility, and transparent relationships with money.

My role was to design end-to-end banking and brokerage from the ground up: mobile-first IA, complete UX flows, and close partnership with engineering.

Understanding current needs

Why this platform was being built

As a 0→1 startup, GloriFi had to translate a highly mission-driven identity into a trustworthy, mainstream-ready product.

  • Users felt underserved by incumbent institutions
  • Traditional banks felt bloated or misaligned with personal values
  • Demand for transparency, intuition, and alignment with financial responsibility
  • New-to-finance audiences needed predictable workflows—not jargon
  • Competitors split banking, insurance, and investing into disconnected experiences

Trading experiences

Buy, sell, and chart variants—candlestick, area, and order flows side by side.

Identifying friction

Where traditional banking falls short

Competitive research highlighted gaps we addressed with unified IA and patterns across checking, savings, credit, insurance, and investing.

  • Disconnected experiences between products
  • Overcomplicated account flows
  • Confusing payment and funding pathways
  • High onboarding friction for multi-product users
  • Mobile that didn’t scale from desktop

What I delivered:

  • Mobile-first banking flows — Transfers, deposits, bill pay, linking
  • Brokerage & investing UX — Fractional shares, ETFs, order types approachable to newcomers
  • Unified navigation & IA — One framework across products
  • Streamlined onboarding — KYC, funding, insurance eligibility, brokerage compliance
  • Modular product cards — Credit, savings, insurance modules
  • Responsive design system — Desktop and mobile consistency

Result: A cohesive 0→1 platform that made complex tools feel simple and aligned with personal goals.
